The morning of surgery...

We are nervous, as you can imagine, and my stomach is in knots. We are trying to spend as much time with Thomas this morning as we are allowed.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)

Please pray for our precious Thomas today!
We will be getting hourly updates during the surgery and will try to post updates here as often as we can.

  1. Hey, Melissa, TJ, and Precious Thomas!
Have been praying for all of you and will continue to do so. The Palm of our Lord is a Big One, and He's got all of you right there. A beautiful picture. Love to you and your whole family!

  5. My family is praying for you all, as I know these will be the toughest hours of your life thus far. I have Thomas' sweet picture downloaded to my phone & today I have changed my wallpaper on my iphone to his sweet face to remind me to pray for him each time I look at my phone (which is normally way too often, but will serve as perfect reminder today). I also want to say thank you for sharing this experience with us, as it has made me think about the small things more & pray more. My 12 1/2 year old daughter's name is Grace & she heard me playing the song you guys had listed yesterday & was of course intrigued because of the name. So I replayed it for her & shared Thomas' pictures & the story with her & she is praying for him too. And we downloaded the song to her ipod b/c she "totally loved it". This morning she asked me if there was any "new news" about Baby Thomas? I explained to her that they moved up his surgery till this morning instead of lunch time, but that it would take 6-8 hours before the surgery would be finished. As she ran out the door to school she said "love you mom & if you hear about Thomas text me after school" (she has cheer practice after school till 6). So I'm sure today much of Gettys Middle School & for sure the Cheer Squad will by added to Thomas' long list of prayer fans!!
    Love & prayers~~~Stephanie

  7. Thinking of you. I have been praying and praying for you three. I know you would take this from him if you could... your surrender to God and His care and wisdom is what he needs from you, and you have so many of us praying with you. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you." Good luck Thomas. Fight hard! Love,
    Gayle

  10. I do not know you by face or name but we are tied by the bond of Christ. My prayers and love are with you.

Go forth into the world in peace,

    Be of good courage,

Hold fast to that which is good,

Render to no one evil for evil.

    Strengthen the fainthearted,

    Support the weak,

    Help the afflicted,

    Honor all persons.

    Love and serve the Lord,

Rejoicing always in the power of the Holy Spirit.

  12. I will be thinking about you all today and hoping all goes smoothly. Next month marks 8 years since my son was there to repair his congenital heart defect. You are at one of the best places you can be. They are an amazing group of people.
